What a win
I can tell you for sure that this is one of the more amazing Steelers wins I've seen. I can't rank it just yet. I'm
still having trouble breathing.
For 52 minutes and 45 seconds, the Steelers played in a way that made me want
to run to the toilet and puke. But they won.
You have to be a damn good team to be able to look like shit for most
of the game, against another damn good team, no less, and still win.
FINAL SCORE: Steelers 20,
Cowboys 13

Now I have to write something
OK. All done throwing my Steelers cap across my apartment and laying on my back pounding my feet and hands on the floor.
Townsend returns INT for a touchdown to give the Steelers the lead. But Romo has 1:40 and all his timeouts.
7:27 pm | link
All tied up!
Ben Roethlisberger to Heath Miller for 6 yards. 13-13.
Tony Romo's getting two minutes here. So let's not
get too excited. Then it's probably going to come down to the OT coin flip.
What a drive, though.
Memo to Mike Tomlin:
More no-huddle for Ben Roethlisberger.
cc: Bruce Arians
P.S. Pacman
Jones couldn't even make it to the 20 on the kickoff. Steelers have the momentum!
7:21 pm | link
Five minutes left
Steelers need a touchdown to tie, got the ball at their own 33. This is what they pay Big Ben for.
7:10 pm | link
One-possession game
This is reminding me of the Eagles game.
At least the Steelers got some points. Jeff Reed barely made a 41-yard
field goal to make it 13-6, Cowboys.
7:05 pm | link
Another chance
This is the second time Santonio Holmes has tried to give the Steelers a shot in the arm. He just returned a punt 35 yards
to the Cowboys 25. On the previous drive, he caught a 3rd-and-16 pass for 47 yards to the Cowboys 33. But the Steelers couldn't
get any points out of it.
Let's try this again, boys.
6:59 pm | link
Stupid
First of all, Mewelde Moore could have picked up those 6 yards on two carries. Willie Parker only got halfway there. Then
you throw in the flat to Carey Davis? They should have at least kicked the field goal.
Let's hope that going
against the wind and sitting in the cold for quite a while slows down this Cowboys offense.
6:53 pm | link
Huh?
1st and goal from the 6. What's Parker doing back in there? It's Mewelde Moore time. Or Gary Russell time.
6:50 pm | link
Missing person
Has anyone seen Hines Ward today? As I write this, Roethlisberger just escaped his 77th sack and completed a 12-yard pass
to Santonio Holmes, who is keeping the Steelers alive today.
End of third quarter.
6:43 pm | link
No-huddle time
I guess we're seeing the Tony Romo and Dallas Cowboys that everyone was pretty much conceding the Super Bowl to in September.
Nick Folk's 33-yard field goal just gave them a 13-3 lead.
Time for the Steelers to step on it.
6:33 pm | link
Thanks, Fox
I knew it! I just knew that as soon as they flashed the fact that Terrell Owens hadn't had a catch yet today, that he
would haul in a touchdown pass. I swear Troy Aikman asked the crew to run that stat just to jinx the Steelers defense and
help his beloved Cowboys.
Of course, that was an embarrassing flub by the Steelers defense, letting the Cowboys
score on a broken play. And the Steelers don't look like a team that can score a touchdown today.
Hey, at least
Ryan Clark's back in the game. Woo-hoo
Cowboys 10, Steelers 3
6:19 pm | link
Big Ben sacked
The last two sacks of Ben Roethlisberger have come at the hands of cornerbacks. For a guy with Roethlisberger's size,
that must be like getting harrassed by one of those noisy little ankle-biting dogs. That's right, Scandrick. You're
a poodle.
6:10 pm | link
Halftime
The Cowboys just made up for a penalty and turnover plagued first half in which Tony Romo couldn't have thrown the
ball in the Ohio River if he was in a boat. Nick Folk just kicked a 44-yard field goal as time ran out to tie the game at
3-3.
That, along with the sight of Ryan Clark limping off the field, makes me a little worried. Clark was an unsung
hero until he leveled Wes Welker (cleanly, of course) last week. Now everyone knows his name.
I don't like
this.

Score!
The way this game has gone, I'm not terribly disappointed with three points, especially when you consider the fact
that Mitch Berger was punting from the shadow of his own goal posts earlier in the second quarter. That's usually a recipe
for disaster for the Steelers.
Berger's punt was predictably shitty, but the Cowboys bailed him out by touching
it. The Steelers had better field position, but had to punt again, and Berger made a much better punt. Then came Taylor's
pick, which led to a 3-0 Steelers lead. Every point is going to be huge in this game, much like the Chargers game three weeks
ago.

Ike Taylor can catch!
Ike Taylor interception gives the Steelers the ball on the Cowboys' 22.
Need points now!

Move over, Mike
James Harrison tied Mike Merriweather for the Steelers' team record for sacks in a season with 15. I wouldn't blame
you if you asked who Mike Merriweather was. He was a Steelers' linebacker from 1982-1987. His 15 sacks came in 1984.
I have a deck of Hero Decks Presents Steelers playing cards. Mean Joe Greene is the King of Spades. Ben Roethlisberger
is the Ace of Hearts. Rod Woodson is the Ace of Diamonds. Merriweather is the 4 of Diamonds, just to give you an idea where
he ranks in Steelers lore.
It's also worth noting that Neil O'Donnell is the Queen of Diamonds.

Still scoreless
Are these the Cowboys and Steelers or the Stars and Penguins? This is starting to look like a neutral zone trap, eh?
5:10 pm | link
Sorry, God
My "Hands of God" nickname for Heath Miller kind of rings hollow now.
By the way, that's two straight
Pam Oliver reports where we hear her but don't see her. What's the point?
4:58 pm | link
Light their fire
Vintage Steelers. Give them a few inches of turf to defend and they'll defend it. Hopefully this 4th-and-inches stop
will ignite the boys in black and gold, because Troy Polamalu's interception sure didn't.
4:41 pm | link
Is Timmons tired?
Lawrence Timmons has missed two tackles so far. Is he still out of breath from his 89-yard interception return last
week?
4:34 pm | link
Picking on Pacman
I can understand wanting to pick on Pacman Jones, who hasn't played since forever, but not when the receiver he's
covering is Limas Sweed on third down. Jeff Reed missed the field goal, and the Steelers get no points off Troy Polamalu's
seventh interception of the season.
4:28 pm | link
I'm going in
OK, I'm about to crack open my first Rolling Rock. If the updates stop, that means I've been pulled over for drinking
and blogging.
4:25 pm | link
Good start!
Troy Polamalu's interception will allow me to forgive the kick coverage unit for its poor job on the opening kickoff.
C'mon guys! If Pacman Jones hadn't slipped, he might have been gone.

You are looking LIVE!
I had to decide whether or not to watch today's Cowboys-Steelers game at Bob Hyland's Sports Page, with all the
cute waitresses, or at home. I decided to watch it at home, so I could blog live during the game. I had overwhelming traffic
after the Steelers' monumental win over the Patriots, so this is my way of giving back to the Steelahs.com community.
This will be my second live blog this season. I also blogged live watching the Browns game.
So I got my Steelers
garb on, a six-pack of Rolling Rock (the taste of Old Latrobe). I'm all Pittsburghed out and ready to go!
